HOW TO MOUNT NOVALIN WALLPAPER
Mounting wallpaper with Novalin is simple when you follow the correct method. With careful preparation and the right technique, you can achieve a seamless and durable result.
1. Prepare the Surface
- Ensure the wall surface is properly smooth, clean, and even.
- Prime the wall in a color close to the tone of the linen wallpaper for an optimal and uniform final result.
2. Choose the Right Adhesive
- Use an adhesive with at least 20% solids content.
- Apply the adhesive generously to ensure good adhesion.
3. Create Discreet Seams
- Carefully tear off a narrow strip of 0.5 cm of paper along the edges of the wallpaper.
- Grip a few centimeters and pull at a 90-degree angle. It is impossible to tear it crookedly—the structure of the material ensures the tear always follows the fiber direction.
- Lightly run your palm along the torn edge.
- Let the wallpaper rest and expand for a couple of minutes before mounting.
- Place the wallpaper edge to edge. Avoid pulling or pressing the strips together, since the wallpaper will shrink back to its original size as it dries. Instead, position the edge next to the previous strip and allow it to fall naturally into place.
4. Use the Right Tools
- Work with a very sharp wallpaper knife, as linen yarn is a very strong material.
- Replace the blade often to ensure a precise and clean cut.
5. Clean as You Work
- If adhesive gets on the front surface, gently brush it off with a wallpaper brush.
- Use water if needed and wipe with a lightly damp cloth along the direction of the fibers.
Advantages of Novalin
Novalin is stronger than traditional paper wallpaper, making it more durable and easier to work with. The structure of the material provides precise tear edges, reduces the risk of damage during installation, and creates a seamless, hard-wearing result with a long lifespan.
